The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Republic of Moldova have signed an important agreement to allow visa-free travel between their countries. The deal was signed in Abu Dhabi on Monday, 4 August 2025, during meetings between UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Moldovan Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi.

Under this agreement, citizens of both nations holding ordinary passports can visit the other country without a visa. Emirati citizens will now be able to travel to Moldova without applying for a visa, and Moldovan citizens will also travel to the UAE visa-free once the agreement is implemented.

  • Boost for Tourism: Travel between the UAE’s modern cities and Moldova’s historic towns, scenic countryside, and wine regions will be more accessible for visitors from both sides.

  • Trade and Business Growth: The agreement supports business travel and trade missions, helping both countries strengthen ties in sectors like technology, investment, tourism, renewable energy, and agriculture.

  • Stronger Diplomatic Relations: This move comes during the 30th anniversary of formal diplomatic relations between the UAE and Moldova. It reflects a long-term commitment from both governments to expand cooperation across many fields.
