Venjaramoodu, August 2, 2025, In a significant breakthrough, Venjaramoodu police have arrested five individuals, including a woman and her husband, for running an inter-state job fraud racket. The accused duped at least 36 job seekers across Kerala and Tamil Nadu, collecting over ₹4 crore with fake appointment letters from the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC). The arrested include Ramsi (35) from Pothencode, her husband Ajmal (29) from Ochira, Murugesan (59) from Tirunelveli, Vishnuraj (33), and Suresh Babu (50) from Attingal.

Police seized laptops, multiple SIM cards, mobile phones, and counterfeit ISRO and VSSC seals. Investigations revealed ₹1.5 crore was deposited into Ramsi’s account, while Murugesan allegedly swindled ₹2.25 crore from 27 victims in Tamil Nadu. Ramsi orchestrated the scam, creating fake documents with Vishnuraj and Suresh Babu, the latter running a seal manufacturing unit in Attingal that produced forged ID cards and seals.

The arrests followed complaints from two women in Venjaramoodu, duped of ₹8 lakh in March 2024 with promises of administrative officer posts at VSSC. Ramsi, posing as a mechanical engineer, handed over a sealed fake appointment letter in February, instructing delayed opening. After no updates, the women filed a complaint, triggering the investigation. Similar cases are registered at Vattappara and Attingal police stations.

The operation, led by Attingal DySP S Manjulal and including SHO Azad Abul Kalam, Sub-Inspectors Sajith and Shan, and ASIs Rajeena, Gokul, Aseem, and Siyas, culminated in the accused being produced in court today. This crackdown exposes the growing menace of job frauds exploiting aspirants with fake government job offers, raising concerns over stricter verification measures.
